Australia

Introduction

Australia is an amazing country to visit. It’s diverse, it has a rich history, and it offers a variety of climates from desert to rainforest. There are many places to visit in Australia, but here I’ll focus on some that I especially enjoyed:

Australia

The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest coral reef system, and it’s home to thousands of marine species. The Australian government has protected this precious ecosystem by making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981.

The Great Barrier Reef is located off the coast of Queensland, Australia; it stretches more than 2,600 kilometers (1,616 miles) along an arc-shaped formation that runs north-south along Australia’s east coast.

Melbourne

Melbourne is the capital city of Victoria, located on the southern coast of Australia. It’s home to many museums, galleries and art spaces; a great place for foodies; has plenty of parks and gardens; and is known for its unique cafe culture. The city is known as “the cultural capital” because it has so much going on in terms of art and entertainment–you’ll never run out of things to do here!

Sydney

Sydney is a great place to visit. It has many things to see and do, as well as some of the best food in Australia. There are also many cultural events that take place in Sydney every year.

Cairns

Cairns is a city in Far North Queensland, Australia. It is located on the east coast of the state, approximately 72km north of the state capital, Brisbane. The city has an estimated population of 153,495 as of June 2017 and an area of 26 square kilometres (10 sq mi). Cairns was founded in 1876 and named after William Wellington Cairns who was Minister for Public Works at that time.
